About Jerry Abbott
I consider myself to be somewhat of a generalist as a photographer. In fact, the term Walkabout probably best describes my style as I wonder around the Pacific Northwest looking for ordinary but interesting everyday objects, scenes, and places of interest. Particular areas of interest include sunrises, sunsets, marinas, lighthouses, cityscapes, streetscapes and rural farm scenes.
I am currently located in the beautiful community of Poulsbo, located on the Kitsap Peninsula of Washington State. The area is bordered by the Olympic Peninsula and Mountains on one side and the Puget Sound and Seattle on the other side. This location, along with Eastern Washington, where I grew up, provides an abundance of photographic opportunities. As a result this is where most of my Walkabout photography time is spent.
The two quotes below summarize my feelings about photography:
We are making photographs to understand what our lives mean to us.
Ralph Hattersley
To me, photography is an art of observation. It is about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I have found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.
Elliott Erwitt
I hope you enjoy my gallery and would appreciate any comments you may have and of course it would be wonderful and a real honor if you were to purchase a piece of my art.
