I thought the black and white version of this photo did the best job of depicting the cold on a windy winter day. At the time I took this photo the temperature was a windchill factor of minus 4. The leafless tree, abandoned farm outbuilding and decaying barb-wired fence in a snow covered field accurately depicts the harshness of winter in Eastern Washington farm country. Photo taken near the ghost town of Bluestem, near Davenport in Lincoln County.
I consider myself to be somewhat of a generalist as a photographer. In fact, Walkabout, probably best describes my style as I wonder around the Pacific Northwest looking for ordinary but interesting everyday objects, scenes, and places of interest. I am currently located in the beautiful community of Poulsbo, located on the Kitsap Peninsula of Washington State. The area is bordered by the Olympic Peninsula and Mountains on one side and the Puget Sound and Seattle on the other side. This location provides an abundance of photographic opportunity. As a result, this, along with Eastern Washington, where I grew up, is where most of my Walkabout photography time is spent. The two quotes below summarize my feelings about photography: ...
