Pholiota aurivella is a species of fungus in the family Strophariaceae that is found in native forest of New Zealand and in the United States. It is frequently found in the American West and Southwest, especially in late Summer and Fall. Some books list it as edible, but David Arora lists its edibility as "to be avoided.It is sticky or slimy when moist and grows in clusters on live or dead trees
I consider myself to be somewhat of a generalist as a photographer. In fact, Walkabout, probably best describes my style as I wonder around the Pacific Northwest looking for ordinary but interesting everyday objects, scenes, and places of interest. I am currently located in the beautiful community of Poulsbo, located on the Kitsap Peninsula of Washington State. The area is bordered by the Olympic Peninsula and Mountains on one side and the Puget Sound and Seattle on the other side. This location provides an abundance of photographic opportunity.
